I love a good book post. ;)

Wean yourself off the Deveraux gently (which, BTW, there's nothing wrong with,) and go find some of Tamora Pierce's Young Adult novels based in Tortall. "Terrier: the Legend of Beka Cooper" is an excellent piece of semi-historical fantasy with a strong and capable female protagonist.
I see that you live in Singapore. I was in Singapore for 2 days in 1996 when my daughter got married in Australia. You are a bookworm, so am I . have a large collection of mainly English books.
oh thank you brian! u dont know how good it feels to know there's nothing wrong with the deveraux books because my friends have been bullying me to stop it. :) (they said its sooo highschool...hehe) i will definetely check out that book. :)

Did u enjoy your stay here? :) Out of all asian countries that I visited Singapore will always be my favorite. I would love to know some of the English books that you read :)

Absolutely! Singapore is the cleanest, most beautiful city. I lived in Indonesia till I was 12 in December 1945 after the war..We had to flee from Indonesia and were taken to Singapore. We had to stay in an English camp for a month. It was called Wilhelminakamp and it was not far from the Chinese shopping centre. I can't remember much from that time. In 1996 however we stayed in Concorde Hotel. We made a tour in the city and saw the Supreme Court of Justice, the Sri Mariamman Temple, Haw Par Villa and finally the Botanic Gardens. All in all very beautiful! I wore there the same clothes as I did in Australia, where it was supposed to be winter.
The best historical romance I've ever ever ever read was the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. If you like JD, definitely check them out!
oooh...i wil definetely check that out! :)
I totally agree with the Oultlander books, don't forget to tell them how big they are! I like time travel stories and people switching identies.
I sure wish that posting comments had spell check or at least let you edit them. As soon as you click them the submit button bam, too late, your spelling errors are there forever.

i actually checked them out and they were big books! but i didnt know the order of how I should be reading them! so ill check out the national library when i'm free :)

They are sooo worth it though! And they read faster than you think!

Here is the order:

Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross, A Breath of Snow and Ashes.

I am reading the last one right now. It's as good as the first.

I also like Kristine Hannah. The novels are not suspenseful, but she does such a good job of her characters that I kept all of her books so I could go visit them again if I miss them. It's like Grays Anatomy, you really start to get a feel for the characters. The little Book by her called the Blessing is darling. And totally off the track but Time After Time is my favorite movies. I love time travel! I want to leave here and go back and live in the 50. sigh
Hi, i'm new here at Vox, can i add you to my neighborhood..pretty please??? I also love reading. Hmm...I'm loving Judith McNaught right now. I've read two of her books in the past, Kingdom of Dreams, and Something Wonderful. I'll just finish reading a book my friend returned to me, then I'll start reading my newest McNaught book, Remember When. ^^
sure sweetie! my gosh, i totally forgotten about mc naught! I loved them when I was in college hehe which is like a couple of years ago. will definetely add it to my booklist when i get my shopping done or library whichever comes first hehehe.
you had me when u said its like gray's anatomy. :) are u referring to the time travel ala 'somewhere in time' movie?? if so...i feel the same way!! :) sigh!!
Yes I loved the Somewhere in Time movie. Also loved the music. I also reallly enjoyed John R, Maxim's book Time out of Mind. I have read it several times. I put it in the books section of Blog. Here's Amazon's review of it. "From Publishers Weekly
Every time it snows, Jonathan Corbin sees people and scenes that haven't existed for 100 years. Is he being haunted or has he lost his mind? Sturdevant, the psychiatrist his girlfriend Gwen brings in, has another explanation: Jonathan is in the grip of "genetic memory," in which ancestral recollections, like physical characteristics, are genetically inherited. With Gwen and Sturdevant's encouragement, an engrossing saga unfolds, conceiving love, greed, and murder in 1880s New York, and featuring Teddy Roosevelt, Jay Gould and J. P. Morgan, among othersall from the perspective of Tilden Beckworth, by whom Jonathan seems possessed. Meanwhile, in the 1980s, Ella and Tilden Beckworth II are out to kill Jonathan as they have all others with knowledge of their family's dark secrets. But Lesko, the ex-cop they've hired for the job, is smarter, tougher and more ethical than they'd expected. Maxim (Abel/Baker/Charley) works up to an ingenious climax, with the vivid cast of characters, past and present, face to face at last. Combining the elements of a good old-fashioned ghost story and a suspenseful thriller, this is an immensely readable yarn. Illustrations. January 24
